STUDENT PROGRAM
The student portion of the 2009 Annual Meeting has been completely re-developed. Our overall objective is to provide each student in attendance with the best experience possible. The Student Steering Committee has structured the schedule to allow students increased networking opportunities with each other and industry professionals, while attending more Technical Sessions than ever before. The Design Competition Committee is currently developing a contest based on a contemporary issue that will be both fun and challenging. $1,000 in cash prizes will be awarded to the top performing teams!!! This year’s Job Fair will not only be open to Students, but also to young professionals in attendance. Students will be able to post their resume in advance of the Job Fair, allowing attending organizations to review your information beforehand. With the help of Peter Noble, a plan has been developed to include students as Assistant Presiding Officer’s (APO’s) at paper presentations during the Annual Meeting. This will give selected students experience and responsibility, while exposing them to the established membership of our Society.
For more information about the Student Congress, please contact SSC Chair, Gil Romano via email.
